Conversion of district heat generation, 2015 plus

The change of the supply situation with a heat provider was leading Stadtwerke (public utilities) Hanau towards a potential shortfall of heat demand in the district heating system. These changes forced Stadtwerke Hanau to revaluate their future supply structure. In this context, BLS Energieplan was entrusted with the creation of a long-term economical and environmentally-friendly district heat generation concept. Based on the results, Stadtwerke Hanau was able to generate a strategic approach of their heat generation concept.

• Analysis of possible development scenarios for district heating considering  market development scenarios
• Demonstration of alternative production technologies (natural gas boiler, biomass, CHP at the final customer, Power to Heat) in regard to investment and operating costs
• Development and evaluation of alternative generation portfolios in regard to heat generation costs and primary energy factor
