Woodchip-fuelled plant Neuenkirchen
The woodchip-fuelled plant with a capacity of 117 kW combined with a gas-fuelled peak load boiler was constructed in the municipality of Neuenkirchen near Greifswald and ensures the operational optimisation of an existing stand-alone solution for generating heat for a firefighter building, kindergarten, secondary school and community centre.
By changing the heat supply from oil to a combination of wood and gas, an annual saving of 142 tons of CO2 was reached. The investment costs of the plant amounted to approx. €182,000, of which 30% were sponsored through the climate protection funding programme of the federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Max Planck Institute (Plasma Physics) - cooling circuits for the fusion research experiment W7-X
In December 2005, in a public competitive limited invitation to tender issued by the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (Greifswald Branch Institute), BLS Energieplan was awarded the contract for the planning and construction of the cooling circuits for the fusion research experiment "Wendelstein W7-X". The experiment is part of the research activities on the road to development of a fusion power plant. The stellator "W7-X", which is now coming into being in the IPP Greifswald Branch Institute is to demonstrate the suitability of the "Stellator" experimental model for implementation in power plants.
In this context, the cooling circuits to be constructed by BLS Energieplan serve for controlled heat dissipation of the plasma, which is heated with 10 megawatts of power via microwave plasma heating. |
